Following Ambassador Tina’s meeting with the inspirational women climate champions, she visited Trapeang Sangke Community Fishery, covering an area of 415 hectares. The riverbanks and ocean shoreline are dense mangrove forest, which plays a critical role in supporting the rich marine ecosystem and the people’s livelihoods.
The Community Chief outlined his vision for the area’s greater potential for eco-tourism in addition to the seafood harvest. Despite this, the community faces significant threats from both climate change impacts and external economic development.
